VIA Pico-ITX™ Specification Transferred to Small Form Factor Sig

We set the industry standard for small form factor motherboards with the Mini-ITX, which has been adopted by all the world’s leading mainboard manufacturers.

Now we are following a similar path with the Pico-ITX, which at only 100mm x 72mm is over 75% smaller than the Mini-ITX, by transferring the Pico-ITX specification to the Small Form Factor Special Interest Group (SFF-SIG), which is leading a broad industry effort to create and promote standards for tiny computer and controller boards and modules in order to establish an official governing standard.

Creating open industry standards is very important as it enables much faster and broader adoption of new innovations like the Pico-ITX, and we’re very pleased that the SFF-SIG has adopted the form factor. For more information, please see the press release here.
