Walking around Beijing Hutong Country I came across a number of small shops showing the emergence of interesting new businesses being developed by the country’s growing army of native and foreign entrepreneurs. One good example in the area was the NLGX design store, which claims to create “original-designed apparel inspired by the Beijing’s development into a multicultural melting pot of artists, entrepreneurs, travellers, and global-minded individuals”.

The clothing looked pretty good to this admittedly untrained eye and you can buy it through stores on Taobao and other Chinese e-commerce sites as well as in their “flagship store” in Nanluoguxiang. Their business might be better, however, if only they got their URL correct on their promo materials. You can find the store at www.nlgx.org; there’s no sign of them at all at the dot com address.
